12/02/14 - Ashley Copas:
I have gathered some more research and information on the gaol and intend on going on a tour tomorrow so I can see exactly what the jail was like and hopefully get further inforamtion from the tour guide. I will be able to ask the questions that I need a bit more information on and will be able to take more pictures of the prison cells and models that have been made to represent the prisoners that were there and the prison wardens etc. I also completed my synopsis for my research on how I am going to construct my essay with all the research I have gathered and the methods I intend to use. I also read a few online paper journals about former inmates and events that took place in the prison that also gave me further research to use.

Preliminary Research
How I began my research:
On 22nd January 2014, I decided to base my research on 'The Old Dundalk Barracks' as I found it would be very interesting piece of History to focus on as it is close to home and would make me more aware of the facts and information that took place many years ago in a place where I call home. It would also make me aware of the History that took place in my home town, how times have changed and improved and how the old gaol was home to famous inmates including John Dillon, Austin Stack etc.
